Remembering Cali

Thursday: Laundry Day! During the rinse cylce, I'm looking through some files on my computer. I came across this picture. It was taken in San Carlos, CA.

We (the 3 children I nannied at the time) had just spent several hours at Laurel Street Arts. The kids and I had a blast painting our own pottery. We went for a walk down the street when I noticed the sign. It made me so homesick, thinking of my entire family who happen to call me Jin. Anyway, two seconds later, Jack falls in his, 'way to big' cowboy boots, because he was chasing seagulls through the courtyard; the baby's climbing out of her stroller; and Emma, the oldest, is still upset we didn't get to take our pottery with us.

On a deeper note; outfits are like times in our life. One doesn't work so we try on another. There are so many stresses related to working for a high profile family. When it was time for me to go, it was time. I'm glad all of us have a deeper appreciation for each other. I'm missing them so much.

With the end of my nanny career approaching soon. I'm so blessed to go out with such a light load. God 's favor is on me and I can't help but feel extremely grateful for all he's taught me.

That day at Jin's Cleaners seems like yesterday; but today, like most days, I miss those kids! I hope to visit them soon. In the mean time, I guess I better go check my laundry.
