Oh the faces he makes are to much!
When Noah gets older, he's going to be one of those kid drivers - seat way back, hand on top of the steering will, music blaring,
cause he's so cool!

A day for sailing

My friend Sean, and Frits called to see if I'd like to go sailing with them today. I was ready to leave in 2 minutes. I've been out on the boat a lot, yet we haven't sailed. It's either been the weather or no wind. BUT today, we did it. It was amazing, and according to them, the best sail they've had to date. Frits gave me some good sailing tips, and attempted to teach me the names of things. Feeling the power of water and wind was breathtaking. I helped pull the front mass in when we changed directions. Also, when the sailboat started to lean towards the water Sean and I went to the other side and leaned out over the water to shift the weight. Did I mention how exciting this was???? I was counting on Frits to have his camera, but no such luck. So here's a video of their first sail. This video doesn't compare to our sail, but it will give ya an idea of the fun to be had on a sail boat.

Fair Lights! Group Date Night!

Does it look like I'm having fun here?

I dare say, I wasn't at first.
...I was freaking out!

If I wasn't freaked out enough, the girl next to me started flipping out. So, I'm on the SUPER SHOT, freaking out, with the girl next to me freaking out. SO, we're freaking out together at the same time, but before you know it the ride is over.
I'm shaking. my nerves are a mess, but hey there's certain sense of wonder that I even made myself do it to begin with!!! YAY ME! ....er yay Jason for giving me the ARE YOU TO AFRAID LITTLE CHICKEN LOOK!

This was taken towards the end of the night. It was just sitting there. It looked safe enough, and no one was in line!

Mike and I taking in Jason on the ride no one wanted to go on with him.
Do you see how our gaze is fixed upward? I was not going on that ride!

Jason loved the ride. Jinnifer loves the picture!

Millbrook Vineyards

Mike and I drove up to Millbrook, NY today.
We had a wonderful tour and tasting at the local vineyard.

This was one of several pictures we attempted to take on our own. I'd like to point out: I shared this with my sis-in-law Liz, and she was fascinated by the cloud that looked like a kid waving. Pah ha ha. -There's actually a statue inside the deck we were sitting on.

Gotta love the window behind us, reflecting the sky, hills, and vineyard.

The kiss

Today I find myself thinking about all of my wonderful friends. Since I've met them I've noticed the girls greet with a hug and kiss to the cheek. The guys greet the other guys with a hand shake, or a what's up kind of manly hello!
So, as I think about my friends, my thoughts go to the cheek kiss. When did this start? Where did it come from? I've seen it as a little kid and more so in the last couple of years.

How did I function before I met all of these, my grown up friends?

My friends are great and they bring out the feeling of home, the feeling of putting roots down in a place. I haven't felt that feeling since I lived in NE. It's that feeling you have when you've been in a place for so long. Growing up in NE everything felt familiar. I moved away in 2004 and haven't had that until this spring.

I've missed that wonderful feeling of belonging to a place, to a group of friends, and now on top of all that....I'm seeing someone that makes me equally happy about life.

Just when you think your life can't get any fuller, something unexpected occurs and life is overflowing!
gushing!
lovely!
beautiful!

Happy Birthday Carley!
that was
a great
b-day
party!

Tommy's a big bro!

Baby Kieran, 3 days old, was welcomed home today!

Thank you Tom and Noreen
for letting me share
that moment with all of you. Dinner was wonderful!

Tommy's a big brother. I think he's equally shocked! I'd been holding Kieran for a little while.

Tommy, was getting upset and wanted me to play with him.
I suggest a story for both of them, and he jumps up on the couch. So far so good, no really, we were doing great sitting there on the couch. Tommy hasn't held Kieran yet, so I ask him if he wants to? Daddy's and Grandmas are quick with there camera's. I LOVE THAT!

Here we are Tommy's holding his baby bro for the first time!

...check out some of my old blogs(see link below),
Tommy has gotten so big!! 18 months going on 5!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!!
Went into the city today.
No agenda in place.
Nothing specific to do.
Just wanted to be in Manhattan.
Wanted to take some pictures.
This is coming out of the Federal Hall Building.

The lines of the bench and lamp post stuck out to me in this one.
The jogger was a bonus!
An old bell tower in the middle of a cemetary.
I think we were near Wall St.

It's a promise!

The power of a rainbow.

The overwhelming power of a rainbow. eludes me. doesn't matter where I am. or what I'm doing. it stops me in my tracks, and puts me in a 'life is good' place in my mind. Ah the power of a rainbow. It's power overwhelms me.

The sport of kayaking!

I went kayaking for the first time today.

It was quite the adventure;

it was dark when we crossed back to Beacon Harbor.
Here's a breakdown:
I thought I was going to die
It was my first time kayaking

we caught a wake from a barge
we couldn't see 2in in front of us

Get out the work boots....

Love this picture! The painters were here at work today. Tommy and I had to live around them. At least he laughed when I asked if I could take this picture. He's a good guy; anyone need a painter?
